About:
The Northern Utah Coalition, Inc. (NUC) HIV Prevention Project was established in 1996 to address the needs of individuals at risk for HIV/ AIDS in Ogden and surrounding areas.  We believe that HIV/Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD’s) prevention / intervention activities within high at-risk communities enhance cultural awareness of healthy lifestyles and social responsibilities.  Services are provided to clients, their families and significant others in a sensitive and respectful manner.  We serve a client base that is multicultural and diverse in many ways.  Staff and volunteers are trained to ensure quality of service. Each year the Project coordinates activities for the following events in the Ogden area:  National HIV Testing Day, World AIDS Day, National Latino HIV Testing Day, and African American HIV Awareness Day.   Our annual Walk-a-Thon is held in Ogden to raise funds to support and assist the clients in Northern Utah with special needs.  We have a strong and extensive network system which helps meet the needs of our clients.  We serve as a safety net for individuals who reside in Northern Utah and work diligently to help client’s access resources that will meet their basic needs.

Programs/Services:
• Provide Educational workshops in English and Spanish targeting the high-risk populations.

• Distribute harm reduction materials in the Ogden area through community and street outreach.

• Provide weekly HIV Counseling and Testing.

• Provide Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Hepatitis C testing.

• Serve as a referral and support system for case systems for case managers working with clients in the Ogden area.

• Assist case managers with clients in the Ogden area and provide office space for clients to meet with clients.

Our services include community/street outreach activities, HIV testing and counseling, community education workshops targeting high-risk populations. We provide assistance to HIV and AIDS clients in the Northern Utah area. We provide free gonorrhea and Chlamydia testing on a walk-in basis. We provide counseling for Hepatitis C clients and high-risk individuals. We serve as a referral and support system for case managers working with clients in the Ogden area. We assist case managers in filling in the gap for clients, as we do not have a case manager housed in the Ogden. We also provide referrals for, housing, food, transportation, clothing, and other basis needs. We have a HIV/AIDS bi-weekly support group that meets in Ogden and is the only group of its kind in this area. The Project supports the Imperial Rainbow Court of Northern Utah and OUT-REACH Project by providing a monthly and weekly meeting place.
